Pastoral Update May 2025
To All Participants in Vineyard SA !!!
Hi Friends,
This is a year of Renewal!
Jesus said " Behold I make all things new!"
We are focusing on listening to Him as we pursue and explore Renewal in Vineyard churches and ministries across South Africa. The intention is to seek Renewal in as many localized churches as possible.
All over the country varieties of Renewal exercises are being undertaken. It really is encouraging to see the passion and the willingness for change!
Be encouraged to engage ! Don't sit back in passivity. The Lord is inspiring us for greater fruitfulness.
By far the greatest part in all this is the wonder of His Presence. Times of refreshing come from the Presence of the Lord.
Some examples of Renewal experiences include the following:
The Western Cape enjoyed an exceptionally well received Ladies Event which was at full capacity.
Young people from KZN and Gauteng ran a joint Camp with very positive results.
The Lowveld are involved in Mighty Mens events with over 3000 attendees.
The Eastern Cape are embarking on a Renewal Mission Trip to the Western Cape, Boland and Southern Cape with about 40 participants. The intention is both discipleship of the team as well as supporting younger churches, in particular the First Love Vineyard church plant developing in Wellington. This is scheduled for 6-17 July. Click to sign up for this mission.
Healthy Leadership training events have been conducted in King Williams Town and George. More are to follow.
We are welcoming various teams of visiting people under the invitation of Brian Blount throughout this year. Multiple events are being hosted in this regard.
Fountain Vineyard are hosting a Wellness Conference in Gqeberha over 1-3 August.
This will be followed by a week of training in The Pastoral Training and Refreshing Intensive and conclude with a Vision and Values Weekend at Riet River. This is such an excellent opportunity for training and Refreshing for those in ministry roles.
We have felt led to forego a national conference this year in order to shift the focus to Renewal at local levels.
As a reminder, let me explain that we are being led by leaders of 11 regions who connect regularly on Zoom or in person where possible. They exercise pastoral care of all leaders in the movement. This is supplemented by a Broad Leadership Team (BLT) who include Pastoral and Focus Area Leaders. Additional participants are included from time to time in this level so as to help us to be fruitful on many Spirit inspired fronts.
We have also taken the faith and compassion inspired approach in pouring our finances into Renewal, Training and Missional needs. This amounts to over R500k from our reserve funds and 42% of our monthly income. We see this as seeds being sown toward harvesting of Kingdom results. We have a Finance Team that oversees the distribution and administration of this.
Finally, we want to thank every participant for the part you play in this adventure called Vineyard SA!! You guys rock!
May the Lord continue to have His way with us as the Potter with the clay. We are His.
Much love
Dave and Colleen Pedersen
National Directors,Vineyard SA.
